Arma Reforger 2025 Updates: A Record-Breaking Year of Content

A complete overview of every major Arma Reforger update in 2025, from the 1.3 Fire Support patch to the massive 1.6 Kolguyev expansion.

Arma Reforger had a record-setting 2025. Bohemia Interactive shipped three major updates, surpassed 1.5 million copies sold, and logged over 96 million total player hours across the year. Here is everything that changed.

Update 1.3: Fire Support (March 2025)

The March update was one of the most anticipated since launch. It introduced destructible environments, new vehicles, attack helicopters, and mortar systems that fundamentally changed how battles play out.

New Vehicles and Helicopters

US forces gained the LAV-25 infantry fighting vehicle with its 25mm M242 autocannon and 7.62mm M240 coaxial machine gun. The Soviet side received the BRDM-2 combat reconnaissance vehicle, lighter than the BTR-70 but armed with the same 14.5mm KPVT and 7.62mm PKT machine guns.

Both the Mi-8 and UH-1H received gunship variants equipped with detachable rocket pods and adjustable collimator sights. These attack helicopters turned close air support into a realistic battlefield factor.

Mortar Systems

The Soviet 2B14 82mm mortar and US M252 81mm mortar brought indirect fire to the game for the first time. Players can now suppress enemy positions, cut supply routes, and support advancing forces from kilometers away.

Environmental Destruction

Buildings can be destroyed, forests cleared, and terrain reshaped by explosions. This system lets players create new sightlines and bypass chokepoints that were previously permanent obstacles.

Single-Player Content

A new singleplayer scenario cast the player as a US Special Forces operator targeting a high-ranking Soviet officer in the town of Regina near the Western Heights.

Update 1.4: PlayStation 5 Mod Support (May 2025)

Update 1.4 focused on a single headline feature: full Workshop and mod support for PlayStation 5. Console players received 25GB of storage for mod downloads, bringing parity with the PC and Xbox modding experience.

This made Arma Reforger truly cross-platform for modded content. Players on all three platforms can now join the same modded servers and share custom game modes, weapons, vehicles, and terrain.

The update also addressed screen tearing on PS5, improved radio transmission behavior, and fixed crashes related to inventory management.

Update 1.6: Kolguyev Island (October 2025)

Bohemia skipped the 1.5 version number and jumped straight to 1.6 for the biggest content drop of the year.

New Map: Kolguyev

The volcanic island of Kolguyev became the third playable map. Its harsh terrain and unique geography set it apart from Everon and Arland, offering fresh tactical challenges for both organized units and casual players.

Operation Omega Campaign

A new singleplayer campaign accompanied the map, giving solo players a structured experience on Kolguyev with objectives that showcase the island’s distinct environment.

Conflict Mode Overhaul

The flagship Conflict game mode received heavy changes. XP rewards were rebalanced, supply costs adjusted, and new XP categories for vehicle repair and medical assistance were added. Harbors and airports now generate supplies, shifting the strategic importance of controlling these locations.

Arsenal Expansion

The armory grew substantially. New additions included two rocket launchers (RPG-22 and RPG-75), new rocket types for the RPG-7, camouflage variants of the M21 and ART-II, and Soviet naval infantry uniforms. Combat engineers gained constructable sandbags, mortar emplacements, static weapons, and anti-personnel mines including the M14 and PMN-4.

Community and Player Growth

By the end of 2025, Arma Reforger had reached nearly 2.7 million unique players worldwide, with daily active users peaking at roughly 226,000. Bohemia ran the Make Arma Not War 2025 competition, drawing over 200 submissions and offering a $100,000 prize pool.

Modding boot camps continued throughout the year, helping creators build content on the Enfusion engine that powers both Reforger and the upcoming Arma 4.

Looking Ahead

Bohemia has confirmed that Reforger development will continue alongside the gradual shift toward Arma 4. Performance optimization remains a stated priority, and the community can expect further content drops as the Enfusion engine matures.
