Satisfactory 2025 Updates: 1.0 Launch, Update 1.1, and Console Release
Satisfactory left early access with 1.0 in September 2024, then delivered Update 1.1 and a PS5/Xbox launch in November 2025. Here is everything that changed.
Satisfactory Leaves Early Access
After more than five years in early access, Coffee Stain Studios officially launched Satisfactory 1.0 on September 10, 2024. This was not just a version number bump. The 1.0 release brought a narrative storyline, overhauled biomes, a new endgame resource, and the polish expected of a full release.
For anyone running a Satisfactory dedicated server, 2025 has been the game’s biggest year yet, with Update 1.1, a full console launch, and seasonal content all landing within months of each other.
What Came With Satisfactory 1.0
A Real Storyline
Satisfactory did not have a narrative during early access. That changed with 1.0. The game now features a storyline that gives context to your factory-building mission on an alien planet. Story elements are woven into progression milestones and exploration, giving purpose to the endgame beyond pure optimization.
Overhauled Biomes
Several biomes were fully redesigned for launch. Jungle Spires, Southern Forest, and Bamboo Fields now feature polished terrain, improved resource placement, and better visual fidelity. The world feels more intentional and rewards exploration.
Ficsonium and the Endgame
Ficsonium is a new nuclear resource unlocked in Tier 9. Unlike Uranium and Plutonium, Ficsonium uses Plutonium Waste in its production and does not generate its own waste. This closes the nuclear waste loop that frustrated many players during early access and gives endgame players a meaningful new production chain.
Update 1.1: Major Quality-of-Life Additions
Update 1.1 arrived in mid-2025 as the first major post-launch update, with Patch 1.1.1.0 going stable on June 10, 2025. It focused heavily on quality-of-life improvements and features needed for the console launch.
Controller Support
Full controller support was added in preparation for the console release. This includes customizable button mappings and a redesigned UI that works well with gamepads. PC players can also use controllers if they prefer.
Photo Mode
A revamped photo mode gives players adjustable camera movement, filters, character poses, and depth of field controls. It is surprisingly full-featured and makes sharing factory screenshots significantly easier.
Hypertube Improvements
Hypertubes received three-way junctions. Players can now change direction mid-travel by pressing a button at junction points. This makes hypertube networks far more practical for large factory complexes.
Vertical Splitters and Mergers
New logistics options include fully supported vertical splitters and mergers that can be placed directly on lifts. Players can also adjust input priority levels to create priority mergers, solving a long-standing design challenge in complex production lines.
Console Launch: November 4, 2025
Satisfactory came to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 4, 2025. The console version launched alongside Update 1.1 content, so console players had access to all features from day one.
Performance Modes
Both PS5 and Xbox offer three performance modes: 30fps, 40fps, and 60fps. PS5 players also get DualSense haptic feedback and controller speaker support. Performance is solid across all modes, though the most complex mega-factories may push the 60fps option.
Console Crossplay
Cross-play between PlayStation and Xbox is supported. However, PC-to-console cross-play is not available. PC players continue to have exclusive access to the Experimental branch for testing upcoming features.
FICSMAS Seasonal Event
Patch 1.1.2.1, released December 1, 2025, brought the FICSMAS seasonal event to console players for the first time. This was followed by Patch 1.1.2.2 on December 19, 2025, which fixed Steam Deck UI scaling issues and additional bugs.
What Is Next for Satisfactory
Coffee Stain Studios has not officially announced Update 1.2 content. With the console launch complete, the development team is likely using player feedback from both PC and console communities to shape the next update. Future updates are planned to release simultaneously on all platforms.
Running a Satisfactory Server in 2025
Satisfactory’s dedicated server support has matured significantly since 1.0. A Satisfactory server lets your factory run 24/7, even when no players are online. Production lines keep operating, resources accumulate, and your factory is always ready when you log in.
At Reactor, our Satisfactory servers include automatic saves, full mod support through the Satisfactory Mod Manager, and SFTP access for uploading existing save files. Whether you are building your first factory or optimizing a mega-base, a dedicated server keeps everything running smoothly.
