Soulmask 2025 Updates: From Early Access to 1.0 on the Horizon
Every major Soulmask update in 2025, from the Wild Ride overhaul to the Golden Legend DLC and the upcoming 1.0 launch with Shifting Sands.
Soulmask entered 2025 with strong early access momentum and spent the year shipping three major content updates, two free DLCs, and confirming a 1.0 release date. Developer CampFire Studio has steadily expanded the survival sandbox with mounts, automation systems, and an entirely new civilization theme. Here is everything that arrived in 2025.
Wild Ride Update (Late 2024 / Early 2025)
Described by CampFire Studio as the biggest and most transformative update at the time, Wild Ride overhauled animal systems and added significant new content.
New Mounts and Traversal
Four new mount options arrived: the wild boar, the elephant, a sled for group travel with tribe members, and a glider for aerial exploration. The elephant can be fitted with a saddle and even mounted with a ballista, turning it into a mobile siege platform.
Animal Breeding
An advanced breeding mechanic lets players raise animals for specific resources. A large beast trap was added for capturing baby bison, tortoises, and horned eagles, expanding the taming ecosystem beyond simple mounts.
Honor Arena
A new PvE arena pits Soulmask’s three tribes against each other in combat, with exclusive emotes and material rewards for winners. Map events were also added, introducing NPC prospecting squads that players can ambush for resources.
Free DLC: Cozy Tribe Decoration Pack
This cosmetic pack added obsidian building material, winter decorations, hearths, fur beds, and plants. Controller support was also optimized with fully customizable button mapping.
Anniversary Update: Golden Legend DLC and Automation (June 2025)
Released on June 5, 2025, to mark Soulmask’s first anniversary, this update combined a free DLC with a major gameplay systems overhaul.
Golden Legend Mask
Inspired by the ancient Sanxingdui Chinese civilization, the Golden Legend mask introduced three unique abilities: Divine Eye for extended vision range, Heaven’s Watch for increased movement speed, and Spirit Sight for revealing a target’s future talents.
Tribal Automation System
The automation update was the headline feature. Building Planning Mode lets players record custom structure blueprints, and tribesmen will automatically gather resources and rebuild those structures elsewhere. This dramatically accelerates base expansion.
Automated Logistics
Powered ziplines can be constructed between homesteads and resource points, creating transport networks for materials. This ropeway system opened up new strategies for managing large settlements across the map.
Decorative Content
A line of Bronze Age-themed furniture, mask displays, and ornamental items accompanied the DLC, letting players style their bases around the Sanxingdui aesthetic.
Road to 1.0: Shifting Sands DLC (Announced for April 2026)
CampFire Studio confirmed that Soulmask 1.0 will launch alongside the Shifting Sands DLC on April 10, 2026. Originally targeted for Q3-Q4 2025, the full release was pushed to spring 2026 to accommodate the scope of the expansion.
New Desert Region
Shifting Sands adds an entirely new map region inspired by Egyptian mythology. The desert landscape brings new dungeons, ancient ruins, and environmental hazards distinct from the original jungle setting.
New Masks
Two new divine masks arrive with the DLC. Horus grants flight abilities and aerial combat capabilities. Amun-Ra unleashes sun and flame-based attacks. Both expand combat options significantly.
Airships and Desert Ships
Players can build airships and desert ships that function as mobile bases, making it practical to explore the vast new landscape without constant trips back to a fixed settlement.
Pinpoint Navigation
A new mask ability called Pinpoint Navigation lets players select a dungeon objective, and the mask’s consciousness guides them toward it. This addresses a common community complaint about getting lost in larger dungeon layouts.
Three New Game Modes at 1.0
With the full release, CampFire Studio will introduce three new game modes, each offering a different way to experience Soulmask. Details on these modes are expected closer to the April launch.
